The sourceforge help forums are pretty useless. However... since this is a very frequently-asked question...

The major problem on Mac OS X is people get a 64-bit MySQL package, but try to use this with the Apple's provided Python, which is 32-bit. You can't link 32-bit code to 64-bit code. The solution is to make everything 32-bit or 64-bit, and it's probably best to get a 64-bit Python distribution for Mac OS X and the try to rebuild the module.

The message you get indicates the build or link failed.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13581204403076051529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1844829803862335252.post-17040603693498974002008-03-14T16:36:00.000-04:002008-03-14T16:36:00.000-04:00Great to hear that you did not disapper from tha f...Great to hear that you did not disapper from tha face of the planet!
Sorry to bug you with a stupid question regarding the "old" MySQLdb 1.2.2: on Mac OS X Leopard with Python 2.5.1, I get this funny error when I try to import MySQLdb:
ImportError: dynamic module does not define init function (init_mysql)
Do you have any idea how to get around this?
